Job Summary

This individual would be joining our Angiogenesis team, focusing on preclinical studies of ABP-201. ABP-201 is a next-generation bispecific antibody that targets both VEGF and Angiopoetin-2, or ANG-2. We are preparing to initiate clinical trials of ABP-201 in patients with diabetic macular edema in the second half of 2019. The successful candidate will work with the ABP-201 research team to fully characterize the molecule and evaluate its biological activity in various animal models of eye disease, as well as explore potential applications in cancer. Working independently, the candidate will be expected to design and perform experiments, organize and analyze results, and communicate and present findings in team meetings.

How You'll Contribute

Culturing cells and performing standard, cell-based assays

Performing standard in vitro assays such as ELISAs and Western blots

Performing standard molecular biology techniques (DNA manipulation)

Performing immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining

Performing animal (rodent) studies including handling, dosing, and blood and tissue collection

Analyzing and communicating data

Maintaining thorough, accurate records of experiments

Keys to Success

Bachelor's Degree with at least 4 years of relevant lab experience (more experience preferred) - OR-

Master's Degree with at least 2 years of relevant lab experience (more experience preferred)

Experience in academic or biotech/pharma industry

Experience with animal handling and rodent models (experience with models of eye disease preferred)

Experience with histology and microscopy

Proficient in cellular and molecular biology techniques, including transfection, flow cytometry, plasmid manipulation, PCR, and Western blotting

Proficient in cell culture aseptic technique
